Lot 1 - 1983 Butterflies Set of 3
Issued in Australia in June 1983 is the start of a large butterflies collection. This set includes the 4cent, 10cent and 20cent stamps.
The first in this set is the Regent Skipper, a unique and ancient butterfly found only on the east coast of Australia. Second is the Cairns Birdwing, Australia's Largest Butterfly and third is the Macleays Swallow Tail, a common species native to Eastern Australia and Tasmania.

Lot 2 - 1983 Butterflies Set of 3
Issued in Australia in June 1983 is more of the butterflies collection. This set includes the 20cent and 35cent stamps along with the 30cent stamp which was issued in October 1983.
First from June 1983 is the distinctive and spectacular Ulysses butterfly. Next is the Blue Tiger, a tropical butterfly with migrant tendencies, flying south in winter. Then from October 1983 is the Chlorinda Hairstreak, a native found in the South Eastern Mainland and Tasmania.

Lot 3 - 1983 Butterflies Set of 2
Issued in Australia in June 1983 is a set of 2 stamps from the butterflies collection. This set includes the 45cent and 60cent stamps.
First is the Big Greasy, a medium sized butterfly, named for its unique transparent 'greasy' appearance. Second is the Wood White, with a colourful underside, it spends most of its time high in tree canopies.

Lot 4 - 1983 Butterflies Set of 2
Issued in Australia in June 1983 is a set of 2 stamps from the butterflies collection. This set includes the 80cent and 1dollar stamps.
First is the Amaryllis Azure, which is widespread throughout Australia and second is the Sword-grass Brown, a large butterfly known for it's slow flight.

Lot 5 - Queen's Birthday set of 2
These stamps were issued for Queen Elizabeth II Birthdays.
The first was issued in April 1981, a 22cent stamp. It is Queen Elizabeth's Personal Flag of Australia.
The second was issued in April 1985, a 33cent stamp. The Queens Badge, Order of Australia, which commemorates the head of the Australian honours system, established by the Queen in 1975.

Lot 6 - Queen Elizabeth II set of 2
These stamps were issued in 1957 and 1986.
The first is a 4d pre-decimal stamp, printed before Australia adopted the metric system of dollars and cents. It was part of a difinitive set of Queen Elizabeth II, and was printed in a claret colour.
The second, a 33cent stamp, was issued in April 1986, to commemorate the Queens 60th Birthday.

Lot 7 - Colonial Military Uniforms set of 5
Issued in February 1985, this collection depicts uniforms from various Australian states.
These are 33 cent stamps and illustrate Australian vintage artilliary and the customary skill of Australian horsemanship.
From Victoria is the Royal Victorian Volunteer Artillery and the Victorian Mounted Rifles. From Western Australia is the Western Australian Pinjarrah Cavalry uniform. From New South Wales is the New South Wales Contingent to the Sudan and the New South Wales Lancers.
