This collection of five 33cent stamps was issued in Australia in July 1985.This series identifies talented illustrators of fantastic Australian stories, still read today.

Elves & Fairies, by Annie Rentoul, a work from 1916 with delicate water colours. 

The Magic Pudding, published in 1918 has text and illustrations by Norman Lindsay.

The famous Ginger Meggs, by James Charles Bancks, created in 1921, an important part of Australian culture, with its comic strip running for over 100 years.

Blinky Bill, by Dorothy Wall, never been out of print since 1947. This classic story about a mischeivious Koala, also seen as an animated television series. 

Lastly from 1918 is Snugglepot & Cuddlepie, by May Gibbs, a beautiful book promoting a love of nature and native flora.
